Delete your SalamaTalk data

Applies to the SalamaTalk Android app and website · Last updated: 27 October 2026

You can delete what SalamaTalk holds about you from the app, from your organisation's portal, or by asking us. Deleting drafts needs no account; deleting a submitted report or an organisation does, because we have to know whose data to erase. This page is the public deletion route required for the SalamaTalk Android app on Google Play.

Delete drafts and data on your phone

Delete a report you submitted

Reports go to the organisation whose name or code you chose, so that organisation and SalamaTalk both hold a copy. Email info@salamatalk.com with the subject “Delete my report” and the tracking code shown when you submitted. We do not need your name, and asking does not reveal it. Within 30 days we permanently delete the report, its message thread and its evidence files.

Reports are also deleted automatically: when the organisation's retention window for a case closes, the report, its thread and its evidence are erased. Audit-trail entries are kept for accountability and are not deleted with a report.

Delete an organisation account

What is kept

Audit-trail entries (for accountability), invoices and records we must keep by law survive a deletion. Residual backup copies expire within 14 days.

Ask us to delete your data

If any of the routes above do not fit your case, email info@salamatalk.com with the subject “Delete my SalamaTalk data”. Tell us whether you are a reporter with a tracking code, a staff member, or an organisation owner. We confirm the request and complete it within 30 days.

SalamaTalk is not an emergency service. If someone is in danger, contact the police or emergency services immediately.
